Wellness Barriers

Wellness is a great concept:  healthier employees cost employers less.  But for most companies, wellness programs don't work.

Why it doesn't work

It's true.  The concept of wellness is a solid one:  healthier employees cost employers less.  They're also happier, more productive, they take less time off from work, and they have less "presenteeism."

The only problem is that wellness doesn't work for most companies, because employees don't participate, or participation spikes initially and quickly dwindles.

When employees don't participate, employers shake their heads and ask, "why are we doing this again?!?"
