Absenteeism
When employees don't show up for work, it costs employers money -- sometimes lots of money. But absenteeism isn't a necessary evil of corporate culture.
The stats According to a 2005 study by CCH, absenteeism plagues all organizations, but some more than others: - Absenteeism costs $660 per employee per year in direct payroll costs.
- 2 out of 3 employees who don't show up for work aren't actually sick.
- Organizations with good/very good employee morale experience just 1.5% absenteeism on average.
- Organizations with poor/fair employee morale experience a whopping 3.2% in absenteeism.
